Printers’ Tub Service
• Please ensure that whilst HWP drivers are manoeuvring on your site, the area is kept clear of pedestrians and obstacles. Personnel must stand well clear of any moving goods vehicles and be in full view of the driver at all times.
• Plastic tubs are normally supplied for the collection of paper. This service is used most often by the print industry. Tubs can be stacked up to six high when empty and should be handled singly or in pairs when full, depending on the safe working load of your FLT or pallet truck.
• Customers are advised to carry out their own risk assessments regarding the safe handling and general procedures for the use of tubs.
• Please allow access to full tubs when a collection has been booked.
• Customers must inform HWP immediately if any equipment provided is found to be damaged or unfit for use. Suitable replacements will be provided.
• Please ensure that tubs are only used for the intended purpose, i.e. paper for recycling. Please inform staff that non-recyclables such as pallets, plastics, polythene coated or laminated papers etc. must be segregated. Collection of non-recyclable materials will be charged at our current waste disposal rates.
• HWP drivers have been instructed in the safe handling of tubs via a pallet truck and may require help from your staff to maneuver heavy tubs onto the tail-lift of the vehicle if the loading cannot be done with a fork lift truck.
• For safety reasons, our drivers have been instructed to stay in the cab of the vehicle during loading or unloading with fork lifts. HWP staff are not permitted to use customers’ fork lift trucks. If loading has to be done by hand, HWP drivers will load the vehicle as required.
• HWP drivers have been instructed to obey customers’ site safety rules at all times. Please inform the driver of any special instructions or call the HWP office on 0161 330 4971.
